Pauley Perrette is most probably the best actress in America. Although she is now 39, she plays the funny, lively, 19 year old goth, Abby Scuito, in the hit TV show, N.C.I.S. She has been in over thirty films, and many TV shows and series's. In NCIS, Abby speaks sign language because her parents are deaf, and regulaly communicates with Gibbs about things she doesn't want to say out loud. Gibbs also speaks sign language, but is protective about his past, and only Abby knows how he was taught. Pauley was asked the question, 'Did you already know sign language or did you have to be taught specially for the show?'.
Pauley replied that she knew some signing because she had a few deaf friends, but not that much. She said that the day before they were to start filming the episode, she'd learnt all of her lines, and the director rang. "Hey, guess what? Abby's doing sign language tomorrow, we've just decided!" And so she was sent a special tutor who taught her in a night. "Savior!"
